Pieces and Parts of a Hydroponic System

There are several pieces to every hydoponic system.

Though the arrangement of parts may vary slightly to every system,

a few of the same components can be found:

The Bulk Tank- a container that holds the nutrient solution that can range from a few ounces to hundreds of gallons.

The Irrigation system- moves the nutrient soloution from the bulk tank to the plants, a host of things may be used the most popular

being spagettii tubing but can also be cotton wicking or other water moving mediums.

The Plant Container- holds both the media and the plant, also catches the water from the irrigation system and holds it for the plant to use.

In this pictured example the bulk tank is the green plastic container beneath the system. The white tubes running

from the bulk tank to the rows of plants is the irrigation system. The plant container in thie case is simply a white

plastic tray that may be filled with lecca stones or rockwool.
